# Why Work With a HubSpot Solutions Partner (and When You Don't Need One)

*Updated for 2026*

HubSpot can run your marketing, sales, and service from one place. But most teams use a fraction of what they're paying for. The CRM gets set up in a hurry, workflows pile up without a plan, and before long the team is working around HubSpot instead of with it.

That's the gap a HubSpot Solutions Partner fills. Here's what a partner actually does, what you get that you can't get on your own, and how to tell whether you need one at all.

### What a Solutions Partner is

A Solutions Partner is a consultant or agency that's part of [HubSpot's official partner program](https://www.hubspot.com/partners/solutions). Partners work inside HubSpot every day, across many portals and industries, and have access to resources and HubSpot teams that regular customers don't.

### What a partner actually does

The work usually falls into four areas:

- **Implementation and onboarding.** Setting up your portal, pipelines, properties, and automation around how your team actually sells, fundraises, or serves.
- **Cleanup and optimization.** Fixing duplicate records, broken workflows, and reports nobody trusts, and simplifying what's overbuilt. (Here's [a five-step guide to cleaning up your HubSpot CRM](https://elisemanagement.com/blog/5-steps-to-clean-up-your-hubspot-crm) if you want to start on your own.)
- **Ongoing admin and RevOps support.** Handling the workflows, reporting, user setup, and requests that pile up when nobody on your team owns HubSpot.
- **Integrations and data.** Connecting HubSpot to the rest of your tools and keeping data flowing cleanly between them.

Just as important is training. A good partner leaves your team more confident in HubSpot, not more dependent on the partner.

### What you get that you can't get on your own

Working with a Solutions Partner comes with a few advantages HubSpot reserves for its partners:

- **Onboarding built around your team.** A partner can run your onboarding in place of HubSpot's standard onboarding, so setup reflects how your business works rather than a generic template.
- **A direct line to HubSpot.** Partners work with HubSpot's partner, sales, and solutions engineering teams on your behalf.
- **Easier migrations.** Partners have access to HubSpot's migration tool for moving data from platforms like ActiveCampaign, Pipedrive, and Zoho.
- **No extra seat cost.** Partners work in your portal on a no-cost partner seat, so their access doesn't add to your bill.

### Signs it's time to bring in a partner

- You're paying for HubSpot features nobody uses.
- Your team keeps spreadsheets on the side because they don't trust the CRM.
- Reports take hours to pull, or show different numbers depending on who pulls them.
- You're moving to HubSpot from another platform and want to get it right the first time.
- Nobody on your team owns HubSpot, so requests sit and problems grow.

### When you might not need one

Not every team needs outside help. If your setup is simple, your team is small, and someone internally has the time and interest to learn, [HubSpot Academy's free courses](https://academy.hubspot.com) will take you a long way. A partner makes the most sense when HubSpot is central to how you run the business, the setup is getting complex, or your team's time is better spent elsewhere.

### How to choose the right partner

- **Look for relevant experience.** Ask whether they've worked with teams like yours in size, industry, and the Hubs you use.
- **Check reviews.** HubSpot's Solutions Directory lists partners with client reviews.
- **Ask how they'd approach your portal.** A good partner starts by looking at what you have before recommending anything.
- **Know who does the work.** Find out whether you'll work with the person you met or be handed off.
- **Understand the pricing model.** [Hourly, monthly support, and flat-fee projects](https://elisemanagement.com/#work-together) each suit different needs.

### What clients say

> *"She has an encyclopedic knowledge of HubSpot and marketing. Not only did she help manage our projects in HubSpot, but Tiffany went above and beyond to ensure that our projects were successful."*
> **Carlos Soto, Marketing Director**
